New DRM moves a problem ?Will the new /coming up moves by a major DRM applier cause huge difficulty for the genius's who gave us the answer so far - have "they" finally won a war, or just a battle ?
[ Although I understand, at present, if the "update" facility is removed from the PC site, the plug-ins still work ? How long that will last I don't know.... ] |
Re: New DRM moves a problem ?To what moves do you refer? I read recently that one software program can detect if someone is trying to de-DRM a book that was purchased and then cause problems with the software. Is that it?
As far as winning the war goes, dunno. Perhaps just a setback? DRM has not worked as well as originally planned with music, etc. Not even hardware. I read several years back that Blu-Ray players could "never" be made region-free. But apparently they can be made so now. I think all of these companies need to realize that most people are perfectly willing to pay for a product. They just want the freedom to use whatever they have paid for in whatever manner works best for them. |
