Recording from xbox 360 using HDMI splitter and a capture card with RCA input

I want to record my xbox 360 and currently use a hdmi cable to connect it to my tv in order to play in 1080p. I want to continue to use a hdmi cable to do so. i am thinking about getting a dazzle but they take rca input so if i was to use a hdmi splitter then send one hdmi to tv then the other to a hdmi to rca adapter then into the dazzle, would this work?

HDMI is digital while RCA is analog. It seems to be better to use component video out and play 1080i or 720p.

im not sure if this would work but anyway. if you hook up you're cap device to a scart socket and then have that scart lead going to the xbox that would then run off av. you will need a"Scart Adapter Switchable Plug to Socket"

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scart-Adapte...unealbargai-21

so then that will be running on the av. so now you have you're Hdmi cable in the xbox going to the tv running through the Hdmi input chanel. so you should be able to record through the av Chanel while playing on the hdmi input chanel. not sure if it will work tho, but will have to try this myself when i get my new tv this week

I don't think this will work since HDMI is digital and composite is analog.
