all films are listed as .mp4

BUT all of these files are reference pointers (estimation) as ALL are less than 4 KILObytes in size when attained by

.
Replay Media Catcher

Orbit Downloader

GetFLV

Blader

even

WM Recorder

rtmpdump

unable to record the program films itself

Only advertisements are still in .flv format.

Most of the actual films (program, trailers, etc are now in mp4 and avi format and seem to be split upon multiple servers.

Thus I ask has anyone developed a tool that can access and download the films on gametrailers NOT the commercials which are .mp4 and seemingly now fragmented into multiple pieces on multiple servers rather than a single file.

I've tried to download some videos from gametrailers.com using Replay Media Catcher 4 and didn't have any problem downloading HTTP .flv videos (SD as well as HD videos).

I didn't manage to find any RTMPE streams. Please post the URL of the web-page you're trying to record from.

I can't find any .flv files other than the commercials and a few of the promos. Where are you seeing .flv files for the TV shows?

Yes the TV show plays fine in my oldest browser Mozilla 1.7 as well as my regular browser Firefox 3.6. I do not ever use M$IE. Again the final film SEEMS to be coming from 6 different sources as indicated by the streams coming into the sniffer

and then reknitted into the final film (here for the third segment) as well as now being a different file format namely .mp4

If this multiple source re-assembling technique is the new norm for streaming rather than using a signle source has anyone else encountered it before?

hi, there are quite a few other examples (websites, webpages) on this forum where multiple source re-assembling technique (i like that word!! :D) is used. the videos by NBA (basketball) subscriptions, the music by Deezer.com, the ..etc..

nothing new.

In such cases, i would suggest recording the video (or music) with a real-time software recorder. most recently i bought(!) a copy of Applian Replay Capture Suite (Applian RCS). It records everything for you!

And if you now begin to think that i am related to promoting their software products, then ..erh.. ;)

THen that is what we need

a software pack that does the re-assmbling for the client.

Thanks for the info but I was hoping that there was a software pack that allows one to get the source files as the source material is always better than a screen/video captuire.

if anyone finds a manner to access these sources or a new tool that can access the relay streams and reassemble as well, please let us know as that is the next step

i dislike screen capturing too. it's either bad quality or large files. i prefer the original source files too.

Esar, maybe you know of any tool which re-assembles the chunks? :)

I tried to find URLs from the following page:
hxxp://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/111

There were 4 URLs for 4 parts of the episode:
Code:

rtmpe://cp74787.edgefcs.net:80/ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4/mp4:spikecomstor/contentstore/getStream/gt/gttv/331/t_gttv_331_a_rpt3_750.mp4

rtmpe://cp74787.edgefcs.net:80/ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4/mp4:spikecomstor/contentstore/getStream/gt/gttv/331/t_gttv_331_c_rpt3_750.mp4

There were also other URLs. They are for the same first part of the episode, but all have different quality
Code:

rtmpe://cp74787.edgefcs.net:80/ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4/mp4:spikecomstor/contentstore/getStream/gt/gttv/331/t_gttv_331_a_rpt3_1200.mp4

Replay Media Catcher doesn't support RTMPE streams anymore:
As of January 28, 2009, any newly installed copy of Replay Media Catcher does not support Adobe Secure RTMP Measures.

But you can use RTMPE recorders like freeware CooJah + Blader. Blader worked just fine for me.

The player highlights each part of the episode, and you can forward to the beggining of each part to find its URL.

You can join videos afterwards if you want. Or you can just create a playlist instead.
