Removing DRM from .m4v video files and converting it to .avi

 

Hey guys,

I'm very frustrated as I have a movie, which I bought, that is a .m4v file and is also encrypted with DRM, and I cannot play it on any other video viewing utility but iTunes.

Are there any good, FREE converters that can remove this pesky DRM protection and convert this file to .avi so I can play on what ever the hell kind of program I want?

You can use freeware Requiem unless you rented your m4v file.

Instead of converting m4v to avi, it is better to remux m4v into avi. You can try to do it with Avidemux, ffmpeg and other program. But is it really needed?

Did you try M4VGear before? Heard it's very nice to remove DRM from videos from many of ma friends.

I'm using NoteBurner M4V Converter Plus . Quite good so far.
