I used autodetection for the 3D display of HP Envy 17 3D Notebook, didn't have to do any manipulations to make my active shutter glasses to work. Side-by-side as well as top-over-bottom .MKV 3D movies, .MVC 3D demo videos, 3D Blu-Ray movies and cartoons played just fine.
