external security camera: Need Capture Software with Auto Save EXIF

 

I have an external security camera hooked up to my PC via a USB capture card.

Using a screen shot program or preferrably software that can use this capture device, I would like to to be able to press a button on the keyboard or mouse to take random pictures at will and have the metadata automatically saved just like a digital camera does.

I don't need the GPS coordinates etc, just the time & date so that my other software can use the pictures. This other software you see, only recognises EXIF compatible jpgs, so this is why I need it.

Does anyone know of a program, free or to buy?

jpgs should have the date/time of creation and last edit, so not sure EXIF is needed.
