Absolutely :) - The traditional DVR use dedicated point to point analog cabline to bring the analog signal from the camera location to it. IP based NVR uses the IP network technology as a backbone for transporting information. The digitized video, audio streams of the IP-camera can be transmitted by connecting it's LAN (local area network) to the IP network. So - the NVR can be placed at any place for video recording from anywhere within network access.
