WMRecorder no longer finds urls

 

So I've been using WM14 for a while now, and it usually behaves, but over the last couple of days, if would not pick up encapsulated urls. That means no youtube, and no streams launched by a flash player (be that flv or wmv).

I've tried upgrading to the latest version, but that did me no good. Downgrading to WM12 did solve the issue, but I much rather be using the latest version of the software than a 3 year old version...

I'm fairly certain the problem is on my side, seeing how it was quite sudden, and over all websites... Can anyone provide me with some helpful hints?

WM Recorder 14.7 works fine for me.

What URLs exactly do you have problems with? What version of WMR do you use?

Definitely a problem on my side, my laptop is able to record fine.

Tried reinstalling wmr with no success.

Using wmr14.7, and failing to capture stuff off youtube.

Are there general steps I can take to try and solve the problem?

Some youtube content is streamed via secure RTMPE protocol. Please post a link so that we can check it out.

What OS do you have?

Also what mode do you use to record? Have you tried to record in the ADA mode? Have you tried to clean the cache of your browser and re-record again?

Well, I've just picked any video off the first page. Say for example:

Using windows 7 professional (x64)

I would just like to reiterate, I do not have any issue recording. Given a url, I can record it. I just have a problem with sniffing the urls.
I've tried clearing the cache, and change the recording mode. I'm usually on PRO or ADA.

This video is really weird. I wasn't able to play it in Opera or Firefox. However I was able to play it in Google Chrome. WM Recorder 14.7 didn't have any problem detecting the URL and downloading the stream in the ADA mode:



I used Windows 7 Professional.

I was able to play the video and record it just fine with wmr 14.7...

Yeah, I know.
There should be absolutely no issue with downloading the video.

However, I can't. I know the problem is on my side, and is not wide spread.

My question is, whether there exist a list of steps I can take to try and repair my installation of wmr which have somehow got corrupt, or perhaps some other things I can do to try and solve the problem.

Sometimes firewalls, antiviruses, anti-malware prevents from recording. You may try to disable them temporarily.
