How to solve the Black&White preview window problem with xbox 360 and Dazzle DVC 100


 
What I've seen before was the problem with the preview window in the Instant DVD Recorder being Black and White only. It was solved by downloading software called "amcap". The program allows to get colors in your xbox video.

How to solve the Black & White problem with xbox 360 and Dazzle DVC 100:
  1. Download and install "amcap".
  2. Launch "amcap". Ignore any error messages.
  3. In "amcap" go to "Options" -> "Video Capture Filter".
  4. Select the "Video Decoder" tab.
  5. Click the box that says "NTSC-M" and change it to "Secam-B".
This needs to be done repeated every time your preview windows becomes black and white.

Do you have the same problem?

With amcap everything works until i press capture it goes to a black screen

Start capturing with Pinnacle Studio by hitting the Capture button.
Then open the demo version of AmCap and in "Options" -> "Video Capture Filter" select "Secam-B" and hit the Ok button.

Then you will need to cut the beginning of the video that is black and white.
If you see a black square instead of the preview window, just ignore it and see whether the file was recorded properly or not.

Let me know if it works for you.

Since this can hardly be called an ideal solution, I highly recommend to contact Pinnacle, so that they try to fix the problem.
