Portable Digital Recorder for recording up to 2-4 channels simultaneously

Hi,

I'm looking for a portable digital recorder for recording up to 2-4 channels simultaneously. It should have built-in mics as well as support recording from external mics.

Zoom H4n has very positive reviews. Is it the best option for me?

If I get a PC with multiple sound cards, will I be able to get better quality?
