streaming audio speech: mp3 vs. ogg vs. spx: what format consumes less bandwidth?

I ripped a 1hr audio speech cd into 3 different format in order to find out which is the smallest to put on my website. here is the format and their sizes.

mp3 62KB
ogg 43KB
spx 11KB

does that mean that if I use spx, it will take the least space on the host server? and visitors play it, it will take the least bandwidth?

The smaller the file size, the less bandwidth will be consumed. SPX files are used for speeches, while MP3 and OGG are much better for music.

Also note that file size as well as quality depends a lot on a bit-rate you choose. Make sure your ripped files sound good enough.
