How to fix Skype setup problem: We are having problems connecting to the download

I've have downloaded the install file and when running setup, I get the following message:
"We are having problems connecting to the download server"

I cannot seem to go past this point. It always wants to connect to the download server, even with the full install.

Any suggestions how to fix the problem and install Skype?
