How to use text chat on www.ChatRoulette.com?

How do i get an IM section in Chat Roulette?
I'm trying to use it, but without the mic, and for some reason can't find a section to type to the partner. Where do i find it?

It is on the bottom of the page. See the edit box that has up and down arrows for text scrolling.
