RMC or WMR: difference between Replay Media Catcher and WM RecorderHello, what is the actual difference between Replay Media Catcher and WM Recorder? Is it the same software marketed under different names or both are very different?
Thanks, martin |
Re: RMC or WMR: difference between Replay Media Catcher and WM RecorderReplay Media Catcher and WM Recorder are very different. It is probably easier to try them to find out why.
While both RMC and WMR can download
WMR is a legendary software. It is the most powerful Windows Media stream recorder. It is well know for ages, especially for being the most powerful Windows Media and Real Media stream recorder. Also it was the first easy to use streaming media recorder, which required you to hit the record button only to start recording. RMC has its own strong points. Its Video History Tool allows to capture HTTP packets from flash player (rather than download them). It can also record any sound from your audio card even if you don't have Stereo Mix / Wave-Out Mix. It can extract MP3 files from flash videos that use them (for example, youtube .flv videos), so you don't lose any quality when converting FLV videos to MP3 with it. Also RMC can convert audio /video files between the most popular formats and add converted files to iTunes. Another really nice feature of RMC is that it can rename videos automatically, plus it can identify music tracks, tag and rename them automatically. |
Re: RMC or WMR: difference between Replay Media Catcher and WM RecorderAnother proof that these products are different is that RMC can be launched in Linux and Mac OS with WINE emulator, while I haven't managed to do the same with WMR.
