Problem recording Blu-ray:When using PowerDVD/WinDVD to playback Blu-ray:Black screenHi,
Does screen capturing of DRM'ed videos works for all type of DRM (for premium content)? Unfortunately, when using PowerDVD/WinDVD to playback Blu-ray content, only black windows appeared in the captured. BR, SC. |
Re: Problem recording Blu-ray:When using PowerDVD/WinDVD to playback Blu-ray:Black scYou can't even take snapshots of Blu-ray videos when you use PowerDVD and WinDVD. Hollywood demanded that PowerDVD and WinDVD take that function out of their players and both caved in and did it.
The problem is that PowerDVD and WinDVD use hardware acceleration, which can not be disabled when playing Blu-Ray videos. When hardware acceleration is on, the video is sent to the Video Overlay, so when you use screen video capture software you just get a black screen. IMHO the best workaround is to remove any protection from Blu-ray video using AnyDVD HD. After decrypting your Blu-ray disc you can convert M2TS, MTS videos to any other format. And you can play M2TS, MTS videos using freeware VLC, Media Player Classic. |
Re: Problem recording Blu-ray:When using PowerDVD/WinDVD to playback Blu-ray:Black scYou can also try Avgo Media Recorder, freeware screen capture (frame grabbing) software that can grab frames from PowerDVD. This method is sensitive to sync issues and / or the skipping of frames.

Re: Problem recording Blu-ray:When using PowerDVD/WinDVD to playback Blu-ray:Black scYou can also decrypt Blu-ray discs with other Blu-ray ripping software. Freeware Blu-ray Disc Ripper is one of them. It is not that good as AnyDVD HD, but it is free.
