I am using Audacity - how do I get the line in option?

I am using Audacity. I want to record from the line in port but my only 3 options are wave out mix, mono out and microphone. What Do I have to do to get the line in option?

What OS do you use?

Try to go to the Preferences ("Edit" -> "Preferences...") and select the proper recording device.
