Record/download radio stations stream using liquid compass (like www.kcbq.com

Will these software solutions also work for the radio stations that stream using liquid compass like
Code:

http://www.kcbq.com/
If so, can they actually record/download without using the sound card?

LiquidCompass.net uses RTMP streams, so you can record them with the same programs that were suggested for BBC iPlayer streams, namely:

You can download RTMP streams automatically with software like Replay Media Catcher (RMC), WM Recorder and Jaksta. Jaksta even allows you to capture RTMP packets from flash player, so you can listen and record at the same time without creating two separate threads (one for listening and another one for downloading).

If you don't want to use commercial software like RMC and Jaksta, you can try freeware Orbit Downloader, CooJah + Blader, TubeMaster++ and other.

Does anyone know of any solutions for recording these streams, particularly RTMP, in a scheduled manner, ala Replay AV? I'm thoroughly disgusted with the poor support I've gotten from Applian on this product over the years.

I'm looking for solutions that would work on Windows, Linux, or even Mac OS X.

This stuff doesn't have to be completely turnkey. I'm fairly handy with scripting, particularly Perl...

The problem with RTMP radio streams is that radio stations change them in many cases, so you need to find a new URL just before recording.

At least Replay AV can record RTMP radio streams on schedule, although it records such streams from your sound card:

Because you know scripting, if you manage to find stream URLs for radio stations that you need, you can download them with freeware rtmpdump. Just schedule your script with cron.

You can share your script at sourceforge.net so that other users can record such RTMP streams from radio stations.

Thanks for the pointer to rtmpdump. That should help a lot.

Generally, the complication with using cron is that you have to kill off the recording process. I'll try to get it figured out.
