Save RTMP .flv stream to an editing format (like AVI, MPG)

 

is there a chance to save that rtmp stream to an editing format ( like avi , mpg ) . I have Replay Media Catcher, but it save only flv , and take to much time & resources to convert them .

Maybe a software does that ?

You can record into MPEG-2 or other formats using screen video capture software. As a user of Replay Media Catcher, you can upgrade to Replay Capture Suite or just get Replay Video Capture at a special price. Replay Video Capture allows to record any video from your screen into using MPEG-2 or Windows Media codec.

Why do you think that FLV files can not be edited? You can even try Replay Media Splitter from the Replay Capture Suite.

I've never used Replay Media Splitter. I use freeware VirtualDub for editing files. You can use FLV plug-in for VirtualDub to open FLV files that use VP6 or h.263 video codec with VirtualDub.

VirtualDub is very powerfull. It has lots of filters for editing videos. And it is one of the fastest programs to compress videos.

If your FLV video uses h.264 codec, you can remux FLV video into MP4 using freeware software

FLV videos can use video codecs other than VP6, h.263, h.264, but most videos use the video codecs mentioned above.

You can also use freeware AviDemux for editing videos. I get mixed results with it.

So many options... What to choose?

If your FLV files use h.264 video codec and you want to get MP4 files without transcoding videos, then just remux FLV video into MP4 using freeware software.

If you want to get MPEG-2 or WMV files fast, then you may try Replay Video Capture (or any other screen video capture software).
Please note that recording videos from screen is resource intensive especially when you re-record HD videos, so your computer should be powerful enough. But you can always record with Replay Media Catcher and then use video editors mentioned above.

I have chosen the screen recorder sollution :D cuz when i'm trying to import a flv in VirtualDub , message error appears " file does not have video stream" .

For video editing i use Cyberlink PowerDirector , i know how to work with it , but flv files move kinda laggy . maybe i need special flv codecs ?

That's because the FLV plug-in for VirtualDub doesn't support h264 video codec.

You can use Direct Show Input Driver for opening h.264 .FLV files.

You can also edit h.264 .FLV files with freeware AVIDemux.
