Video conferencing on PDA (Windows Mobile), Android, iPhone, Maemo

Hi,

We're planning to buy smart phone for our employees. We need them to use video conferencing via 3G, WiMax, LTE, Wi-Fi,....

What video conferencing solutions support PDA (Windows Mobile), Android, iPhone, Maemo, Blackberry? Which platform is better for video conferencing?

Fuze allows to participate in web meetings from an iPhone or BlackBerry WiFi-enabled mobile phones. It support Windows and Mac OS as well.

Although Fuze includes a Flash-based unified communications portal designed to be platform-agnostic, as well as a variety of device-specific applications, it doesn't support Linux and PDA (Windows Mobile), Android, Maemo, Symbian mobile phones.

WebEx Meeting Center features available on smartphones
WebEx meeting attendees can now join scheduled meetings through the browsers of smartphones:
  • Attend a pre-scheduled meeting on 3G or WiFi supported smartphones with integrated audio and data. Attendees can join meeting from the meeting invitation email, from a link in the calendar event, or from the company’s WebEx site—all from smartphones.
  • View a presentation, application, and desktops shared from another computer with annotations.
  • View list of meeting participants and meeting information.
  • WebEx meetings needs to be first scheduled and started on a computer.

Which smartphones support WebEx Meeting Center and what are the system requirements?
  • BlackBerry: Curve 8900, Bold 9000, Storm 9500 in Europe
  • Nokia: N85, N86, N96, N97, 5630, 5730, 6710, 6210, 6220, 5800 Xpress, E51, E52, E55, E61i, E63, E65, E66, E71, E71X, E90
  • Windows Mobile (PDA): Samsung BlackJack II, Samsung Omnia, Motorola Q8, HTC Fuze, HTC Touch
  • Android: G1

The will be more smartphones added as soon as they are certified by WebEx.

Note: the solution may work on other browsers (such as, Opera, Firefox, etc.). Cisco has not extensively tested on these browsers.

I agree with tpyshangxin. My brother and I use oovoo to communicate all the time. This is very effective for getting "your point across". We spend more time communicating than "freezing" up on eachother. May it has to do with the compression ratio.

Very cool thread. Never heard other than skype and can't wait to use. Seems like OoVoo (strange name to choose) even support HD cams
