recording older berkeley video lectures

I am trying to download webcasted berkeley video lectures through HiDownload. I am using a LAN and the log in hidownload says err_unsup_req 0.
The file doesn't download at all.

The same happens with NetXFer

I have tried rmrecorder (10.2) also but it, upon filling the proxy information, gives a "password denied error"

btw my os is windows vista

thnx for help

Can you play these old video lectures? Berkeley used to make old videos unavailable.

What stream format your old video lectures use? Can you post or PM the URL(s) so that we can try?

These are lectures on Computer Architecture by Patterson
Code:

http://webcast.berkeley.edu/course_details.php?seriesid=1906978259
from fall2003(i guess i call that old)
Yeah I can play these lectures but in between they stop, showing a general streaming error and then beginning from an intermediate time is not possible.

I don't have any problem recording them with NetXFer and HiDownload.

Have you tried to use RM Recorder in the PRO mode? Take a look what URL RM Recorder shows when you play these streams with Real Player. You can also use freeware URL Snooper to find stream URLs. Try to use the same URLs that your Real Player uses when playing Real Media webcasts from Berkeley.edu.

Yes, NetTransport works fine here too, are you sure you're not using the one with trial-period expired.

It seems that the problem is with the Internet access in the LAN. Many admins block protocols and ports that they don't want to be used in their LANs. RealPlayer has a nice protocol rollover and it can try many protocols and ports, while streaming media recorders usually can't do that. This is why it is a good idea to sniff the URL that Real Player is using and try it in a streaming media recorder.

Thanks a lot for the help.It really cleared a lot of questions.
But the problem is I am using fedora 10. Is there any URL sniffer available for Linux?
