WM Recorder cannot start in WMX mode please restart and select a different mode

 

When i try to pen up WM Recorder 14 in WMX, a message pops up and says. (WM Recorder cannot start in WMX mode please restart and select a different mode) I'am using windows XP Pro SP2 Wireless connection and i dont have any firewall up.

Try ADA mode, you should be fine using it for the MOST part.

On another note, I'd like to gather some information from you if you don't mind, so I can asses the situation and get you the best solution possible:

1) What operating system are you running? (Including service packs!)

2) Can the recorder detect your adaptors? (To find out, click the blue button underneath "MODE" and see if it says anything in "Adaptor Description"

3) When you open the program, does it say "ADA" or "PRO" underneath "MODE?"

4) Did you run the "Internet Connection Test?" (Run this by clicking the blue button under "MODE" and then clicking on the circle next to "Internet Connection Test")

5) After you ran the "Internet Connection Test" what were the results?

Thank You for your help on this issue, but i had to restore my machine and it works

But now i have a issue on my hands that i just found out about a few months ago.

I got to a site called papithugz.com (Porn Site) i have a issue, a while back i used to be able to pull the real player streams off this site. I had optimum online at the time , and i had a netgear router, and was able to pull the media.

I think after a while it stoped working i could not pull the media off the site.

If u want the login to the site here it is

I got verizon fios now and it still does not work, but when i got to a friends house it was able to pull the media, even when i went to another friends how i was able to pull the media, they both had different service providers. One had a belkin router and one had a linksys and i was able to pull the media but i cant do it from my house.

Do you have any solution for this issue, or any thoughs on it. Is the site blocking my location or, is the owner put some speacial software, i need something because i dont understand it. One time i was home and i tried it at night and it worked then the next morning it didnt but that happens little to none

Unfortunately I was not able to record that stream with WM Recorder, most LIKELY due to it's encryption.

Good news, however - I WAS able to record this stream using WM Capture, another program which we offer. Let me explain the difference between the two:

The way WM Recorder works is it does not record what is actually playing on your screen, in fact if you want to think of it this way, it does not "Record" at all. What it is really doing is capturing URL's from these streams and then downloading the video using the URL.

Now, granted, there is not ONE program out there that can record everything. This is the same with WMR as well, so we created WM Capture which works pretty much oppositely of WMR. It records what's on your screen, online...offline, whatever you choose to record. i was told before that it is probably is the encrytion, but, why does it work my friends house, and i have tried this at many of my friends house and it works. I just dont ge it u see u jusr tried it and it didnt work, mine does not work niether, but at my friends house it works. if i was encrytion it would not work at all

Do they also use WM Recorder for recording from papithugz.com? If yes, please try to find out what mode they use for recording and what version of WMR they have. Thank you!

Ive have went to his house, and i used the WMR recorder, the mode was set to WMX mode Auto on and the version that was used 14.1. i have tried it and it works at my friends house but not at mine i don't understand. Sorry for the delay

I had a similar problem to this when I changed my virus checker, are you sure that you are not being blocked by your firewall?

I cannot recorded in ADA anymore since I changed to the ESET virus checker.

Firewalls can certainly be a problem: Here's what we suggest to ensure ADA mode works for all:

There are a few steps i'd like you to try that SHOULD help you resolve your issue:

1) If you have any anti-virus software and/or FIREWALLS (including windows firewall), pease make sure that they will grant access for the following programs to access the internet (I know this seems like alot, but it will only take 2-3 minutes to add them all):

Stream Media Recorder WMR11.exe
URL Stream Recorder wmrurl.exe
URL Finder interface.exe
RTMP URL Finder interface_rtmp.exe
RTMP Stream Recorder rtrec.exe
RM Stream Recorder rmrp.exe
PRO Stream Recorder wmrwmp.exe


2) Once this has been done, open the add/remove programs utility from the control panel (Click Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs) and look for a program called "WinPcap 4.0 (or 4.1)" If it is there, uninstall it, if not, then proceed to the next step.

3) Click the blue button underneath "MODE" and in the consequential window look near the right side you should see an area that says "WinPcap" Click "Install"
