No Stereo Mix(HP Pavilion dv2000, Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 211 sound card)

I have an audio recording issue with my HP Pavilion dv2000 (Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 211 sound card). The "stereo mix" is not there at all, not even if I Show the disabled devices.

I don't know whether Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 211 has an SPDIF Interface or not.

If someone can help me on this!!!

Hi there,

I also have this problem. I just bought a new laptop from Compaq cq700 and I have the Conexant High Definition Smart Audio 211 also, and I don't have any "Stereo mix" or "Wave out" or "What U Hear". I have Windows Vista 32bit.

I used to have Windows Vista before and I used to have these options. Now nothing even when I show the disabled devices. I usually use "Stereo Mix" to record from my sound card. I can't do that anymore.

Please can anyone help me?

thanks

I have Compaq Presario CQ50-108NR (Conexant HD SmartAudio221) with Windows Vista.

I can't enable the "Stereo Mix" on my computer as well. I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-108NR.

I have already upgraded my sound card by downloading the driver off of HP's website, and it's still not there.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have the same problem with SmartAudio 221 on HP G60-230US. Also I have a HP dv6426us that uses Conexant HD Audio (not SmartAudio 221) that have Wave Out Mix, I've look at the inf file from both drivers and it seem to me they are completely different. Anyway, the Conexant HD Audio driver for XP filename is sp34204.exe you can find it on HP download support website. If you can come up a solution that would be great, I think currently there are no stereo mix/wave out mix for SmartAudio 221.

Good Luck!
Johnny

If you have SoundMax Audio Card, here is the solution: Lenovo with SoundMax driver

I've just bought Lenovo R61 and have the same problem. In recent days I've tried ALL POSSIBLE solutions I could find on the internet, from the simplest ones to BIOS re-installation - never worked. No "Stereo Mix", no "Wave Out Mix", no "Line In", no "What You Hear" in the Recording Options. Only stupid "Microphone".

Yesterday by accident I discovered, that by deleting "HKR,AD1984\\Disable, OutR, 1, 01 ;; Disable Stereo Mix Capture Node" in the driver file called ADIHdAud.inf and re-installing the driver I made the "Stereo Mix" volume bar visible.

Now, I have no idea yet whether this way will help me get other bars - have to decipher that code which I'm not familiar with. And also don't know if that works with my external USB sound card (E-MU 0202, I left it at home and will check in a few days). But that's the first thing that gave ANY EFFECT (contrary to all web-forums solutions), so come on guys, let's fix this crazy thing together!

I tried the Virtual Audio Cable option and unfortunately didn't work, I could hear everything fine but it simply didn't record.

Disabling the microphone had no changes either.

I also tried installing the XP controller but again, it didn't work.

I'm now considering a downgrade because so far the only method that has worked is using Replay AV

This is what I'm using: Compaq Presario F70000 with a Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 that also says DEV_5051.

I found the solution for same trouble very lot, my Laptop is Asus A52JC and it's sound card is Conexant too.

I founded this anwers and i thing it's best

Quote:

Just a short comment from Microsoft about “Stereo Mix” for Conexant High Definition Smart Audio under Windows Vista.

As we know the Conexant High Definition Smart Audio is built in sound chipset so that it’s hardware capability is very limited. On the other hand, its manufacturer, Conexant, also does not plan to built powerful driver support for it. Therefore, its recording feature is very limited. (Please understand that the recording feature Must be developed in the sound device driver. The Operating System only provide the platform to link it with other programs.)

Based on the current situation, I am sorry to say that Microsoft will not be able to help you on this issue as it is a hardware problem. Please be assured that our Product Team will forward the customer feedbacks to Conexant in the conference call. However, it will be Conexant to decide whether or not to add the features in the sound card driver.

I got a good new. There are 3 solution for this trouble :

Freecorder 4

or

Jaksta Free Media Recorder

or

i-Sound Recorder Pro

3 software work 100%, I tested them.
