What happened to wax-files for WMP??

For many years I am using .wax-files on my website as a buffer between the site and the mp3's and wma's (www.78rpm.hovers.nl).

And for many years all worked perfectly.

But recently it seems as if the wax-files are not supported anymore by the Windows Mediaplayer. The wax-files on my PC and on my server can't be opened anymore. I tried everything, but in fact I didn't change anything neither. It worked perfectly for so many years.

What has happened? Has Microsoft change anything in the WMP? And if I can't use .wax files anymore, what is a good alternative, also for making clickable playlists for my visitors?

Please help!

Try .ASX metafiles. They have the same structure as .WAX files (WAX files are just ASX metafiles used for audio streams).
