WMRX method

Hi,

I would like to ask about WMRX download method. How it differs from ADA/PRO? What are the specific cases to use PRO or WMRX mode ?

Thank you,
martin

Re: WMRX method

WMRX can be used on computers where WinPCap doesn't work. For example, some people have problems with WinPCap in Windows 7 and some firewalls prevent WM Recorder from using WinPCap.

ADA is a default recording mode. It should be used in most cases. If you have problems with it, you can try other modes.

PRO mode allows to capture packets coming to your Windows Media Player and Real Player. A content provider can't detect you using a stream recorder when WM Recorder is in the PRO mode. I use this mode for recording some secure streams, live streams and Windows Media playlists.

Hello.

Would you, please, explain how do I use the PRO mode to capture packets coming to my Windows Media Player and Real Player? I have a file already downloaded that I'd like to record. Thanks in advance.

WM Recorder can capture Windows Media streams in the ADA mode. It is not intended to be used with downloaded files.

You can use video splitting or editing software like WM Splitter for splicing Windows Media files.

If you have a DRM protected file, then you can use lossless DRM removal software or just re-record Windows Media video from your screen using WM Capture.
