Memory stick enquiry (Problems with Windows Vista)

Hi
I have a computer technology problem that has been irritating me for the past year.
I used to have a Windows XP laptop and could record video footage from Windows media player on my memory stick.
However, I got a new Windows Vista laptop last year and for some reason I can't record videos to my memory stick.
Does anyone here know how to fix this problem?

I know that the WM Recorder can record Windows media player footage but can the videos be transferred to memory stick?
I await your help with these questions.
Thanks

WM Recorder records Windows Media streams as .asf (.wmv, .wma) files. Like any other files they can be transffered to other hard drives, usb drives, burnt to CD, DVD,...

If your laptop is made by Sony it should support Memory Stick. Other laptops might not have a built-in memory stick card reader. But you can always buy an external card reader. And some gadgets that use memory stick cards can be connected via USB to your computer and allow your cards to be accessed this way.

p.s. This might be trivial for you, but hopefully this will help you.

Thanks

How to you access your memory stick card on your laptop? Is there a drive letter that is associated a memory stick card reader?

Its not the memory stick, it worked properly by recording videos (including copyrighted videos) on windows media player on my old samsung laptop but not the current fujitsu siemens laptop.
I want to correct this problem somehow.

Do you use WM Recorder? If yes, what version do you have and what errors do you get?

What web-page do you try to record from?

I don't have the WM Recorder, but have used the trial period version.
This device successfully records videos, but can they be converted to a memory stick?

Any video online that I try to record cannot be recorded on windows media player to my memory stick.
My old laptop was so good that it even recorded copyrighted videos on my windows media player to my memory stick.
Thanks

Memory stick is not a video format or codec, it is just a flash card. To convert videos you need to open a manual and see what formats and codecs your hardware (like Sony Walkman) supports. Then an appropriate audio/video converter can be chosen.

WM Recorder can download or capture not only Windows Media, but also Flash video, Real Audio/Video and some other streams. When you download/capture with WM Recorder, it doesn't convert anything.
