Anyway to list available MMS streams on a server?

 

This is a long, long shot, but lemme ask...

Let's say that you know the base URL of the streaming server, something like

mms://wms.streaming.com

ASF/WMV streams are apparently organized by a simple directory structure, like:

mms://wms.streaming.com/sports/baseball07_500k.wmv

I'm guessing that there's no way to somehow get a listing of the directory from the server, right? After all it's like trying to list subdirectories on a webpage that has a index.htm in the root...

AFAIK one can't a listing from the mms server itself. however it is sometimes possible to get this info from an xml file, txt file or maybe by working around a search function of the http web-site, but usually this information is hidden and one have to rummage for it manually for each web-site.

LyFox and GAMV application are a good example of getting lists of files from Yahoo Music and AOL music servers. How the heck did the developer find this info stays unclear to me.
