Using freeware VLC for recording TVU Player streams
TVU Player streams can be viewed with freeware VLC player. VLC can also help if a stream buffers but doesn't load correctly.
To use VLC for recording TVU Player streams: - Start the TVU Player stream and let it buffer.
- Start VLC, go to go to "Media" -> "Open Network...". Select "HTTP" option, and type in "127.0.0.1:8901" in the "Address" edit box.
- Press ALT+S (or click on the drop-down list on the bottom of the dialog window and select "Stream").
- Check "File" and select a file on your computer to which your video will be saved. Select "Dump raw input" and hit the "Stream" button.
- Leave TVU Player running (closing TVU Player closes the stream).
- You may need to mute the sound in TVU Player so it doesn't affect the sound in VLC.
