Using freeware VLC for playing TVU Player streams

TVU Player streams can be viewed with freeware VLC player. VLC can also help if a stream buffers but doesn't load correctly.

To use VLC for playing TVU Player streams:
  1. Start the TVU Player stream and let it buffer.
  2. Start VLC, go to "Media" -> "Open Network...". Select "HTTP" option, and type in 127.0.0.1:8901 in the "Address" edit box. Hit the "Play" button.
  3. Leave TVU Player running (closing TVU Player closes the stream).
  4. You may need to mute the sound in TVU Player so it doesn't affect the sound in VLC.
