RM recorder interferes with RealPlayer

I installed the trial version of RM Recorder for capturing RealAudio streams. I have the newest RealAudio Player (10, I think it is).

After capturing the first RA stream with RM recorder, the Real Audio player no longer can play streams on its own. I have to start RM Recorder and start streams though it before the Real Player will work.

If I reinstall Real Player it works fine, until I use RM recorder once. Then Real Player stops working on its own again!

Any suggestions?

Please read the next post made by the developer of RM Recorder to learn how to reset the settings of the Real Player.

You may also wanna try Real Alternative instead of the Real Player. It allows you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer/RealOne Player. The RealMedia Browser plugin supports Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape and Mozilla. Besides Real Alternative is absolutely free!

Although AFAIK RM Recorder works better with the Real Player.

RM Recorder

RM Recorder changes some of Real Player preferences during recording. These settings should be restored back to original when the program closes. If not do the following:
  1. Open the folder where RMR.exe resides (usually C:\Program Files\WM Recorder 10.2) and delete the file SavedReg.txt.
  2. Open Real Player / Tools / Preferences / Proxy. All Streaming Settings should show "No proxy specified". If not click "Change Settings" and check the buttons "No Proxy" under PNM/RTSP and HTTP. Click OK
  3. Click Network Transports / Manually configure settings / RTSP Settings. Click "Reset to recommended". Repeat for PNM Settings then uncheck the "Manually configure settings" button.
  4. Click "Connection" then click "Test connection"
