Cannot record Window Media stream even have the URL (http:// mp3?MSWMExt=.asf)

Hi all,

I'm new here. I have encounter this website

which has Window media stream. I searched the internet for many methods and freewares to records Window Media stream. I have sniffed the URL of the song as:

However why I add the link to download managers such as hidownload or IDM, they just can record around 200 bytes of the song.

Could anyone please help me with this problem?

I have come across that website. So far I have tried WM Recorder, HiDownload , IDM, GetASFStream, Mini-streamRipper and Hi-net Recorder. None of them work for me.

WM Recorder can detect the link (which is the one I post) but the download is always 0.00Mb. Hidownload & IDM just can get 200 bytes from the link. Mini-streamRipper does not do anything when I load the link. Hi-net recorder even can not detect the link. I do not really remember what happen with GetasfStream but it did not work either.

You can try to change http onto mms in the URL. See the following thread for a similar discussion:
Can't record Windows Media stream .mp3?MSWMExt=.asf

I used the latest version of WM Recorder and it perfectly recorded this windows media .asf stream for me.

Another software that I can suggest is freeware WebVideoCap, but I'm pretty sure many other stream rippers like HiDownload can download the stream for you as well.

I use WM Recorder version 12 and still can not download it, as well as HiDownload .

Here is the screenshot of my WM in action of recording. On the main window it said 100% 0.000 Mb 0kbps.

Could you please tell me how you use WM to record this stream? The website of the stream is

Have you tried to record with WM Recorder in the PRO mode?

Have you tried to change the URL from http:// to mms:// or rtsp:// in HiDownload (or have you tried to select the Windows Media stream when adding a new download to HiDownload)?
