Downloading/ripping/capturing/saving free MP3 songs from MySpace Music

I just downloaded free MP3 songs from MySpace Music with Replay Media Catcher. It was very good at ripping MP3 songs as well as tagging them.

Are there any free alternatives that can download/rip/capture/save free MP3 music from MySpace Music?

Hmm, I've been using Replay Media Catcher myself for myspace songs and it's been working great for me.

We've got a pretty extensive list of Streaming Audio Recorder software you might want to check out as well...

What I don't understamd is why some artists don't allow their stuff to be downloaded but don't include a link where you can buy it.

It's not hard to understand..they don't want you to download it for FREE because they're not making money from it...but if you want to buy it, then of course it's no problem because they're making money. :D

MySpace started using RTMPE protocol. To record songs now you may use direct sound recording software like Replay Music. The latter program allows to split songs and automatically tag most of them.

To download MySpace music with Replay Media Catcher 4:

Download rtmpdump from MPlayer web-site. Then extract rtmpdump.exe into the RMC 4 folder (by default it is
C:\Program Files\Applian Technologies\Replay Media Catcher 4).

Then go to the Tools -> Settings -> Plugins, hit the Add button and configure as shown below:

Code:

Protocol: RTMPE

Url Match: myspacecdn.com

Executable: rtmpdump.exe

Parameters: -r "{url}" -o "{file}"

Tested with rtmpdump-2.3-windows.zip
