How to record streaming video on Avacast platform (presentation and RTMP flash video)

I am trying record a video that is streamed using the avacast platform. I have tried a number of programs from VM recorder to Media Catcher, among several others. Some programs are able to record the video, but none can record the sound. Could someone tell me how to record these files to my computer? They are roughly 3 hours long each.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with avacast, can you give me a URL to test record for you?

Thanks

The video I am trying to access is an online course, and needs a password to watch. This is a demo version of the avacast product, so it should be the same format

Code:

To record rtmp flash videos you may use Replay Media Catcher or any other RTMP Flash stream recorders.

To record a presentation with slides you may use WM Capture or any other screen video capture software.

I've had success capturing the streaming video with a few screen video capture programs, like Camtasia, but none will record the sound. I read somewhere that the avacaster product has the sound in mp3 format. Would this affect Camtasia or others ability to record the sound?

Most screen video capture programs can record sound. The only problem is that your sound card should be able to play and record simultaneously (unless you use software like WM Capture and Replay Video Capture that allowsto capture video from screen with audio even if your sound card does not allow recording)

you mention of having a soundcard that will record and playback at the same time. This begs the question:How do I tell? and if my soundcard won't support it can you recommend one?

Thanks..

Just try to record with freeware screen video capture software or use a demo version.

I've been using built-in sound cards lately. Before that I liked soundcards from Creative like SB Live! And it really depends on what you do with audio on your computer and whether you're an audiophile or not.
