New installation - Windows XP SP3 - how to fix IBX at 11.0.6000.7000

Hi there,

Due to a virus infection I have just re-installed windows XP on my PC. I have yet to run media player on the new install, however the version of Windows is upgraded to service pack 3.

I was wondering if there was a way to install Windows Media Player so as to have an ibx of 11.0.6000.7000, and therefore enable use of FairUse4WM to remove DRM.

If anyone knows of a way to do this I'd be grateful to hear from them. I am holding back on installing media player until I know whether this can be done.

Finally, I have noticed that 4od don't seem to allow content to played through media player, you have to use their built in player. This never used to be the case as I have used FairUse4WM with these files in the past. Does anyone know of a way round this so I can remove the DRM from these files.

Cheers.

Try http://www.oldversion.com/

It's a simple site, but lets you search for a program of pretty much any version, etc.

You should always upgrade Windows selectively in order to use FairUse4WM. You can downgrade your Windows XP or just use a virtual machine with another copy of Windows XP that won't have all the latest updates.
