Сonnecting DVR to CCTV cameras via LAN (HUAWEI router)

This post is related to an earlier one titled "How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV

cameras from a remote place (static IP)". I've tried to follow the same setup but have met

with some difficulties.

For one thing the router I'm using is of the HUAWEI brand and it doesn't have the

"Applications & Gaming Section / Servers of the Router", or "Server/Application" fields.
The closest analog is found under the "Advanced Setup->NAT->Virtual Servers" settings.
- Under the "NAT-Virtual Servers Setup" I selected the "Server Name" as Domain Name Server
- Under the "Server IP Address" I entered the DVR static IP, and
- Under "External/Internal Port Start/End" I entered the DVR port number.

I've tried registering the DVR on the manufacturer's website using their assigned username and password, and although the host account is successfully created, I can't log onto the DVR over the LAN. It just sort of times out when I try to access the page via http://"dvr_ip_address" in Internet Explorer.

I've also tried registering it on dyndns.org with the same result.
Please help!

Try to access via
Code:

http://"router_ip_address":"DVR_port"

Re: Сonnecting DVR to CCTV cameras via LAN (HUAWEI router)

Hello,

Don't know if any one is still reading this link. But I tried the advice of using the router's ip followed by the DVR port and this hasn't worked either. Incidentally, when I try to 'save' the DVR LAN settings by pressing the 'PLAY' button on the DVR (as per the user manual instructions) I get a message saying 'FAILED TO SET DDNS'.

As a side issue, I am also having difficulty backing up files manually; trying to copy to DVR-R/W prompts the message 'No disk/Wrong disk'. The DVR appears to be a generic device with no brand name. The site maintained by the manufacturer is i-dvr.net, but I haven't been able to locate any useful information to help me resolve these problems. Does anyone have any pointers?

Thanks.
Mees

Can you post or PM the IP address you're trying to use?

Do you have a static or dynamic IP address?

i-dvr.net is used to set up DDNS. There are other web-sites that you can use for the purpose.
