Recording to a server from a DVR card with remote viewing capabilities

Hi quick question. Is it possible to record to a server from a DVR card that has remote viewing capabilities. The person who owns the pc based card is afraid if robbed, they will simply take the hard drive and there would be no evidence. Thanks for your time in advance. Mark L
