Ive been previously able to download from livestream fairly easily with chrome addons but they seem to ahve done something in the last week and now it is impossible to get the videos

ive tried everything i can to get this video (geo-restricted to sweden)

i cannot get a m3u8 file or mp4, all i can find is an SMIL file but im not sure how to use it.

it uses Akamaihd

Any smart people got any ideas?

Does your arsenal include livestreamer and/or streamlink? Both of those should work.

it does but they were not working for me, will give what you have suggested a try

bloody awesome.....

looks like your suggestion is working, it just downloads very very slow on my high speed connection. looks like its only using one connection to download

the file is 2gb in size so ill wait till its finished and check it out

Using the akamaihd url with livestreamer and/or streamlink usually results in the video being downloaded at real time play speed. By default, it also starts the download when the transmission went live, so there will be some minutes of video containing "the event has not yet started" video banner at the beginning.

Depending on the account settings of the livestream account holder, the video may later be converted to other formats like progressive mp4 or hls m3u8. On the other hand, the settings may result in no conversion or the video being expired or deleted completely.

yeah i think you can adjust the start time which is this part of the URL @408235

they used to encode them to mp4 after the live stream finished but they must have changed that as it doesnt work anymore
