How to stream videos and record them directly from TV

Does anyone know which devices I need if I want to stream videos and record (from any website), directly from my HDTV? Any help would be appreciated.

Look around if your tv is smart tv with apps it most likely runs something linux or android based and can be rooted.

It is, but it's wrapped up in Java instead of pure C, hence googles problems with Oracle, battery life and speed, if they used pure C it'd run apps alot quicker with less memory demands and they wouldn't of needed to hire the Flexycore droidbooster app people to come up ART.
