Recording ESPN/ESPN2 feeds on WatchESPN

Hi all.

So, through this forum, I've learned how to download replays from ESPN3.com using livestreamer and urlsnooper. I find the m3u8 url with urlsnooper and use livestreamer to download it.

I'm wondering how to capture the live stream of the games showing on the WatchESPN.com streams of ESPN and ESPN2. When I use urlsnooper, there is no m3u8 url to grab, so I have nothing to plug into livestreamer. It's only specific to those two channels: anything streaming live on ESPN3 streams or SECNetwork streams has an m3u8 url I can grab. It's only ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU, I believe, that don't have the m3u8's.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't find m3u8 for ESPN or ESPN2, but the latest Adobe HDS Downloader works. Trouble is the max resolution of the stream is 896/504@2200kbps, and it is Akami encrypted, so it appears they are not giving a live stream in HD, and are making minimal efforts to protect the SD streams.

Can you baby step me through that process? I installed PHP on my system, but any time I try to launch AdobeHDS it says it cannot find the input file.

PHP can't find AdobeHDS.php. Either include the whole path to AdobeHDS.php in your command line or copy AdobeHDS.php into your current working directory.

Put AdobeHDS.php and any other necessary files in the php dir.

Use command prompt to navigate to the php dir (cd c:\php)

Then paste in the link provided by the HDS link detector in Firefox into the cmd prompt.

*optional: specify output dir and file name using appropriate handles (--outdir --outfile). check the help file for all of the handles.

Thanks all. I simply had to copy the entire file path (c:/users/my name/AdobeHDS/AdobeHDS.php

Once I did that it worked like a charm. Used the Firefox extension to get the URL. It even grabbed the 2200k stream.
