Problems with rtmpdump

I'm running Xubuntu 14.04 and I pulled rtmpdump vsn 2.4 from the
Ubuntu repositories. However, it does not appear to work properly:

$ grabit # my shell script to execute the necessary commands.
Reload the video page, start the video and watch for the rtmp information
When the video information appears, type ^C to halt the rtmp server.
