Just use ffplay to send in a UA along with the link -- courtesy of chaptheman ;)

You can use livestreamer.

It also not works for me to play the m3u8 URL directly in VLC (other players too). :)

Basically when you change the User Agent it should work.

VLC - MEDIA - OPEN NETWORK STREAM - SHOW MORE OPTIONS - EDIT OPTIONS:

Personally I don't care if it works directly with VLC, as long as it works with the Livestreamer application.

PS: Can I also save the new user agent parameter line in VLC options itself somehow?
