Having sound on chaturbate videos is one thing. But when the broadcaster is responding to chat messages which aren't recorded. It can make you wonder why you converted the sound at all!

So is there a way to record the chat text from the stream? Possibly to convert to an srt file.

I have written a console application that connects to the chat server and shows the chat messages (public chat only). Saving the chat messages to a text file (SRT) is easy, but there are two problems:

1) You must somehow start to record the video stream and chat stream at exactly the same time or else they will be out of sync. For example, if you start to record the video stream 5 seconds before the chat stream, then the timestamps in the SRT file are 5 seconds off and the model responds to a question before you have read the question.

2) When there are a few thousand viewers in the chatroom and the model hasn't silenced the 'greys', then there are often dozens of new messages at once. How are you going to show all these messages?

Some good points there that I never considered. Then again I never chat in rooms with thousands of viewers or mods. I personally prefer the , ahem, chat. :D

Still some pointers in the right direction wont hurt.

How would one get the message stream? I have the video and audio doing well via rtmpdump, however...the chat messages? Any help would be appreciated...

If you install AdBlock and click on "open blockable items"

I think the number maybe is the message id for every post?

idk but from brief glance it seems to be javascript / xml setup.

I hope my post doesnt get lost behind this huge spam message ;)
I'm also interested in viewing/saving the chat messages (and looking at the number of 'views' of this thread I am not the only one).

So I repeat the question if there's someone who can shed some light on this topic. I dont even have any idea how to connect to a chat server.
Dont know if Elgero is still active in this forum, but his console app could be a good starting point (even better if he could share the source with us).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

any Chance that u open the miracle on how you connect to the Chat Servers of chaturbate to retrieve the Chat Messages??

I'm also interested in something like this. Right now i'm screen recording the chat log and manually typing the messages I want to keep into an srt file. It's really not the ideal method but I can't think of anything else at the moment.
