What does "missent" status of the USPS packaging in tracking mean?

 

I didn't get my USPS package. When I try to track it via the USPS site, I get the "missent" status.

What does the "missent" status in USPS tracking mean? What do I have to do to get my package?

The "missent" status can mean that the USPS package was routed improperly and will be sent to the correct location now. Hold on for a couple of days. It should be OK.

You don't need to worry about the "missent" status. This happens all the time. Your USPS package gets rerouted and will be delivered.

"Missent" means that from there they put it on the wrong truck to another local post office. The USPS website shows that this should be sorted out within 24 hours. They'll sent it back to the sorting facility and then to your local post office. These things happen, but they are usually resolved within 1-3 days.

Sometimes USPS workers hit "missent" by mistake, but the package is delivered on time :)

I got the following in my tracking besides the "missent":

2 days later the USPS package was delivered to me. So this is not a big deal in most cases.
