Help with GetFLV needed

Hey there,

you guys are my last hope. A few months ago I purchased GetFLV because it what the only tool that worked on the sites I needed it to.
However, for weeks now I have problems with it but their support just doesn't answer.

Just like the latest version 9.1.1.4 every version after 9.1.0.0 comes with a bug. I reported that bug several times but neither received an answer nor was it fixed.

I could just use 9.1.0.0 but the problem is, it checks the installed Adobe Flash version. And if Flash is newer than GetFLV GetFLV refuses to work with it. So I'm stuck with an old version of GetFLV and an old version of Flash. I'm ok with an old GetFLV version but I really hate not being able to update Flash.

Therefore I wrote the guys at GetFLV again. This time I didn't ask for a GetFLV fix but for information how to force GetFLV to work with new Flash version (the info must be stored somewhere, in some file). Guess what, no answer again.

I really hope to find someone who can help me. Thanks in advance.

You need to understand this. The programs currently able to download the toughest streams have been reverse engineered. If you can even download them, consider yourself lucky.

As far as GetFLV goes you should assume at this point you will not be getting customer service and make your next purchase with extreme prejudice. The current scene with streaming video security is literally changing every month. Any program free or otherwise could lose support without notice as website think up new and asinine ways of preventing downloads.

Idk but when I pay for something, and GetFLV is pretty expensive, I expect their support to answer. Especially when there was enough time, when I tried several times and the site it's about is listed on their website as working with GetFLV. They should be happy that there are still people out there paying for their products, which seems to be the minority of people using them.

But I understand what you say. Like many others they got what they wanted (my money) and now I have to handle my problems on my own. I just hope someone has an idea.

Are you trying to download a stream from an officially supported website like Hulu or ComedyCentral?

It's too bad if getflv support team doesnt get back to you, sorry to hear. But they seem to go on with their fantastic work of updating the software very often. I dont see them leave the scene anytime soon.

Good luck.

They update often, true. Sadly these new versions rarely come with anything useful. Most of the updates are either bugfix releases or Flash was updated in the meantime. And as I wrote before, GetFLV refuses to work with a Flash version newer than GetFLV knows about (which is part of my problem).

I think I give up. They will never answer and it doesn't seem like they are looking at this forum or that someone else can help me. Wish I could test TubeDigger but the trial I once installed has expired and they seem to be dead.

That's not true. getflv visits this forum almost every day as far as I know. You can post in that thread or perhaps you can send him a private message.
