Hi,

Anyone knows which SW can really capture a cam4 streaming? Lot of the SW mentioned in the old posts are not working with cam4 anymore :(

Didn't work, the stream didn't load.
Is there a better free app that capture the stream direct from the browser?

I've made my own tool to download streams from cam4. I was using Replay Media Catcher, but with many videos the audio is out of sync.

Give me a couple of days. I still need to change a few things.

You must have WinPcap and at least .NET Framework 2.0 installed. It automatically sniffs out the rtmp url, extracts the title from your browser and downloads with librtmp.

StreamTransport works for me, and can record up to four streams at a time, and launching another instance lets me record another four.

But how to start "Automatic recording when user logs in", that is the question.

Can anybody tell me how long it generally takes for a moderator to approve replies?

I posted my Cam4 downloader several hours ago and got a message that a moderator needs to approve my reply first, but I see now that "elch" is the only moderator of this forum section, but he hasn't been online since 06-18-2010.

Capture any video from screen (with optional audio) using Screen Capture / screencasting software. Record DRM-protected, encrypted, password protected videos, streaming videos using proprietary formats and protocols.

Please only use this tool for your own personal pleasure. Do not post the recorded streams on other websites.

WinPcap and at least .NET Framework 2.0 need to be installed. This tool was my made for myself and has so far only been used by myself, so I'm sure there might be some bugs.

Note: You must start recording first and then load the Cam4 webpage/webcam or it won't detect the stream.

Supported browsers (to extract the title from):

Firefox
Chrome
Internet Explorer
Maxthon

When using an other browser a GUID will be returned as filename, for example "5A29D2E8-B9E6-4E15-BD39-6990461C4B44".

There's an "Audio" column that will tell you right away if there's an audio stream. If the broadcaster has audio turned on and you don't start the download when the broadcaster is making sound, then it can't detect an audio stream. In that case you must Cancel/Delete the download and reload the webpage until it contains an audio stream or the entire video won't have audio.

Make sure you put the application on a place where you have write permission. Streams will automatically be downloaded to a sub-folder named "Downloads". The download folder currently can't be changed.
