Help with wmrecorder: stream with authentication gives "RTSP 401 Unauthorized" error

 

:confused: I have a subscription to a web site with embedded windows media player,I have no problem to download video concerning the channel 3, but with other channel (ex:5) WM Recorder in ada mode starts, finds the url, but the downloading doesn't start. It's cancelled after few second. The only difference between channel 3 and 5 is a choice of video quality (channel 5) between 256 OR 700 KBS through 2 buttons on the page.
If somebody could help.

P.S.
with URL Snooper the log indicates an 401 error (authentification error).

I got the "RTSP/1.0 401 Unauthorized" when trying to record the second stream. The first one is easy and can even be recorded in the URL mode.

When recording a stream that requires the connection to be initiated from a web site or when web site authentication is needed it is recommended to use the PRO mode of WM Recorder. In this case the entire stream data passes through the recorder.

Try to record in the PRO mode and please post your results here. I can't check it out for you without a password.

Yes It works in PRO mode ,but WM recorder is great in ADA mode ,allowing to record severals videos and watch them when you like(only one by one in PRO mode) and it was working in ADA some weeks ago;and I'd like to understand why it's now impossible,if you have any idea...

Most probably WM Recorder in the PRO mode is the only stream recorder that can capture such streams.

If I were them I would trace parallel access of several media streams and ban it. Can you watch several videos from this web-site simultaneously?
