New Android tablet from Amazon: Kindle Fire

 

Amazon announced Kindle Fire 7" Android Tablet($199). Preorders are available starting today. Kindle Fire should be released on November 15.



The tablet runs a heavily-modified version of Google's Android OS. It features WiFi support, but lacks 3G support. Also it doesn't have a camera. It has 8GB of internal storage, although the intent is to stream most content directly from Amazon Cloud Storage.

• Amazon Kindle Store, a book store with over 1 million books;
• and (possibly) Amazon's Appstore for Android, which is home to over 200,000 Android apps.

Another good thing is that Amazon usually had lower prices than iTunes Store, so you should be able to spend less onto mp3 music, video and ebooks.
