Problem with Recording Xbox 360 with HD PVR while playing using HDMI on my monitor

Now i want to clarify that what i'm trying to do doesn't involve actually capturing in HDMI, i want to record using my Hauppage HD PVR while playing on another monitor with HDMI.

Is there a way to do this?

What kind of connections does your monitor support? Any analog connections?

It supports HDMI, VGA, and DMI. I was looking at trying this out
ViewHD Two Input HDMI to RGB Component YPbPr / VGA 2x1 Switch Converter Support 5.1CH Surround Sound

or this
ViewHD Component RGB YPbPr / VGA to HDMI (PC to TV) Converter

thanks

IMHO the easiest and cheapest solution is to use a component to HDMI or component to DVI converter box. Hauppage HD PVR has a passthrough which doesn't lag. And if you use a decent converter box, there should be no lag or much quality loss.

You can connect the HDMI output of your xbox to an HDMI splitter. Then connect one output of the splitter to your monitor and another one to an HDMI to component converter.

The first ViewHD product has great reviews, and should work fine for you. But it is pricey and you will also need an HDMI splitter when using it.
