+ Rdio is a very unknown stupid music service which will get some more fame and exposition thru this review post
+ registering 2011 for rdio is available in USA/Canada only or with FREE vpn (USA ip address)
+ once you have your FREE account, you can login from anywhere in the world. no USA ip address required for logging in or for streaming music
+ you can open a FREE TRIAL account; its free to join and there are no subscription fees during the trial period

+ website's embedded player is based on Adobe Flash; that's why you can surf it with GetFLV, TubeDigger, or StreamTransport
+ streams are unlimited, on-demand, played in full-length and free, during the trial period. FREE, did you hear me?
+ there are no adverts to interrupt the listening
+ the streaming url is something like:
+ you can capture the streams with any payware rtmpe stream catcher (i have tested positive so far: GFLV, TubeDigger, see screenshots below; just make sure that all instances of Internet Explorer 8 are closed/exited or that you're not surfing the rdio.com webpages in parallel with your webbrowsers)
+ the streaming songs are *.MP3 files (LAME 3.98) in 192kbps, untagged; they are wrapped in a FLV-container, so you must use FLVExtract to extract the MP3 from the FLV file losslessly
+ you can download a desktop client for what purpose
+ i cant detect any kind of protection. neither the streams are protected nor the *.mp3 files themselves. for sure, there is no DRM-protection wtf
+ service is boring (~3 million songs) and music is good
+ i can recommend the service: it doesnt cost much and streams are in low quality rtmpe
+ the service (webpage, functionality) somehow reminds me of PLAYME

It takes quite a while to load the webpage into TubeDigger's interface and it takes even longer to be able to play a song in TubeDigger. So be very very patient. Maybe this has something to do with the vpn i was using. Anyway, TubeDigger is able to catch the stream URL and download it automatically!

It takes quite a while to load the webpage into GetFLV's interface and it takes even longer to be able to play a song in GetFLV. So be very very patient. Maybe this has something to do with the vpn i was using. Anyway, GetFLV is able to catch the stream URL and download it!

i have no interest in testing freeware alternatives on Rdio. This is up to you (rtmpe downloaders are: rtmpdump, rtmpexplorer, Replay Media Catcher with rtmpdump plugin, Coojah & Blader, StreamTransport, etc.).

TubeDigger and GetFLV are worth the money .. they are very easy to use (user-friendly!), so before you think of investing money in some stupid Rdio subscription i'd rather recommend investing the money in a licensed copy of TubeDigger or GFLV.

If you were successful with downloading Rdio streams with freeware alternatives, please share your experience, possibly with screenshots, thanks!

I tried using Replay Media Catcher and StreamTransport but none of those worked on this site.
