I have problem downloading free MP3 music from jiwa.fr. Tried Replay Media Catcher and Jaksta, but was unable to download anything with them. Tried Grab++, but it doesn't show any URLs. What can I do to record the stream?

Jiwa (jiwa.fr = jiwa.fm) is a French website similar to Deezer with tons of FREE music. Has anyone been able to capture the songs?, and i dont mean the record-saving with Replay Music or other direct sound recorder.

i dont get along with the rtmpdump command so i am not sure if it is working here. the truth is i cant even tell what kind of protocol they are using (ftp, http, rtsp, mms, rtmp, spotify, vimeo, ...).

Please try yourself (with your knowledge and tools) and then report what you got. I am really desperate about this topic: i cant detect the streams, i cant download. :(

(you dont really need French ip address; when you get "undefinedUKundefinedxx.xxx.xx.xxundefined"-webpage error message, clear browser cache and reload the page or switch browser. then you should get the "Acces limit?: OK / Fermer"-message. Click on "Fermer" and you can listen to FREE albums! It is better than Deezer!!)

This site uses simple http streaming. you just need to find the correct url. but the main problem is that url contains a token which is only valid for single request. so you can't use the same url to download the file. i have written a quick php script to download the songs. you just have to provide the song id.

it's a simple php script which can be run from cmd line. you just need the php software installed.

You can use any sniffer of your choice. if you use firefox then "Tamper Data" extension can also be used. open "Tamper Data" and in filter use "play.php". Now when you play a song it will show you request url eg:
in above url "s" parameter is song id. in this case it is 12039.

After getting the song id just use the following cmd

i have updated the script with some more error checking. also now you can run it by just double clicking the script file and it will ask for a song id.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE that the downloaded "*.php"-files need to be renamed to GZip file extension *.gz after which you can "deflate" (extract) the *.MP3 audio with winrar.

Thanks placebo for co-testing. I did some testing too with KSV's 2nd script and with the Winrar extraction method. There's no need to rename the play(X).php files because Winrar recognizes them as archives. The following screenshot proves that the data downloaded by KSV's Jiwa-downloader and by chap's Coojah-method are identical! :cool:

So here is how to download with CooJah (kudos to chap for the greatest finding!)

1. Right click onto m.jiwa.fm/play.php and select "Cannot download?" -> "Add to tough URL list".
2. Click "Auto Parse"
3. Click "Confirm selection".
4. Check "Edit regular expression manually"
5. Check "Start downloading after blocking"
6. Hit the OK button

You can download RTMP streams with freeware RTMPexplorer + rtmpsrv, CooJah + Blader, Orbit Downloader, StreamTransport, shareware Replay Media Catcher, WM Recorder, TubeDigger...

And you can to capture RTMP streams in real time while you watch them using freeware RTMPexplorer + rtmpsuck, CooJah (without Blader), Orbit Grab Pro, shareware Replay Media Catcher (in the RTMP recording mode), WM Recorder (in the Loopback mode), TubeDigger in the recording mode. Capturing can be done in real time only, but allows you to stay undetected.

If you use Linux, try rtmpsrv or rtmpsuck.
