Download/capture NASA TV HD from UStream.TV with rtmpdump


 
Hello,

thanks for this nice tutorial!

I installed rtmpdump to capture nasatv hd.

_http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv

which is in fact a ustream rtmp stream.

With google I found this url:

unfortunately I wasn't able to confirm it.

But I do not get to dump it with rtmpdump. The swfUrl I tried to add with -W "http://cdn1...", but it still doesn't work.

I was able to capture this stream with Replay Media Catcher 4 in the RTMP recording mode. It showed the following URL

You can also download RTMP streams with freeware CooJah + Blader, Orbit Downloader, StreamTransport,...

And you can try to capture RTMP streams in real time while you listen to them using freeware CooJah (without Blader), Orbit Grab Pro.

If you use Linux, try rtmpsrv or rtmpsuck.

This stream can be downloaded with Replay Media Catcher 4 as well, but you need to disable super download and set buffer size to 1 second (See Tools -> Settings -> RTMP Download Tweaks).

i just want it to work. i was running up on dead ends and it was in 2011 so i wanted to try anything. also RTMPdump itself hasn't been updated in years, so..

first code is for 32-bit windows and second code is for 64-bit windows. just different path for vlc depending on your os architecture.

any reliable way to easily find and play any stream?
in particularly streams that dont go on 24/7 now?
because i don't want to bother people asking for custom codes
i want to learn how to do this myself with any stream
